Couple days late on my update however things are going well. Water parameters haven't changed to any real extent. The tank has been getting their customary 4 to 5 feedings per day. Water changes have been consistent at every other day. Thinking about making some changes. I'm tempted to start water changes every day seeing what the others are experiencing. Also looking at getting a auto feeder to take over while I'm at work. We'll see what changes actually take place.

I must say that I'm happy at how healthy every contestants discus are. Makes me feel good that everyone is doing so well.

Talk later,
Kirk

Hi Kirk,

You bet, it is a really good to see all the great posts and no problems. :)

It has to be a long day for you, working a full day and then taking care of the contest discus.
It is working very well for you though, they have fat bellies and look really really healthy.
You can just see the attitudes of those guys which only healthy discus have. You are doing fantastic, they look great. :):)
Take care,

Bill

hey Kirk, i have that same piece of fake driftwood. i noticed that when i removed it they became less shy. they use to hide behind it on a regular basis. all i have in my tank is 2 sponge filters and that's it. they have not been as shy ever since. just thought i might give some advise if they were displaying any shyness behavior. if not then you should be fine leaving it in for the aesthetic look

Thanks everyone. These fish are great. I'm glad I got to be part of this event.

Yeah Rick, I think that's a pretty common piece of fake driftwood. Luckily I haven't had a shyness issue. These fish are front and center all the time.
