What would be the best media to add to my Fluval FX5 to get rid of the green water more quickly?
I have done a 50% water change which has helped a little....
I have the FX5 coming Monday and want to buy the best media/filtration to fill it with.
Thanks

UV filter. They're not that expensive and will clear the green water up quickly. Then you'll have it if you ever need it again.

Best method to get ride of green water long term is,......find the reason why it is growing in your tank! I expect the light (color and intensity) has to do with it as well as nutrients like phosphates and nitrates.

The fastest way is diatom filtration. Long term fixes wouldbe find what'scausingit and adding UV. Youlikely havea nutrient imbalance. High phosphate readings?

Best wishes!

Thanks all. I added a 25 watt UV, Fluval FX5 canister filter, and the green water was gone in two days! My water is amazingly clear now! I love it.
Now, if I could just get my HC to stop dying and start growing
But....that's for another thread....
