Week 16 completed, 30% of the contest and changes are happening a little more slowly now.
Their major growth spurt has them all almost 5" total length and some over but as expected started to slow.
Now is the time that I have to go back and look at old pictures to see how much they have changed.
They are slowly developing color accross their body and the red around the eye is filling in more.
The water parameters have remained the same throughout the time they have been here.
The water is 65 microseimens, 30 parts per million, ph 6.5 with 0 nitrites and 0 ammonia.
The nitrates remain about 5 ppm.
Since I have moved them to an 80 gallon tank I have made daily 75% - 80% water changes but thinking I will
start cutting back to daily 50% water changes within a couple weeks. I will still continue to wipe sides and bottom
of tank every other day and feed beefheart/shrimp mix once daily with pellets and flake a little more.
I'm expecting the nitrates to remain low when I cut back on water changes but will keep a check.
Everything has been very consistant and they continue to come to the front of the tank begging for food.
There has been a couple times when they were slow coming to the front of the tank and I waited for them
to get more hungry before I would feed them. That sure dosn't happen offten. :D
