Well it's getting to the point now that the dimensions of this tank is just not going to work for this group of juveniles for the duration of the contest. They're just too big.:D There is alot of fighting going on, a couple of the smaller ones try to find a place to hide unsuccesfully, little Banana hunkers up in the corner behind the canister intake. There's always plenty of food in the tank so everyone eats. I'm looking for a tank right now but with the ramp up of some business stuff, money is very tight.

Turned the lights down from 16 hr's to 12 hr's
Feeding 8x a day, seafood/beefheart mix, Hikari FBW, tetra color bits, ON prime reef flake.
90% water change daily.

No pics or video this time. Just a shout out to all the contestants doing a great job.

Hi Steve,
Good to hear from ya even without pictures. I know what you mean about tank size with your 6 discus getting so big. My 80 gallon is about as small as I could get away with right now and suspect I may split the group up if there is too much aggression when they start to pair.
I would have to drive to Sacramento to get a new tank for a reasonable price, nothing around me up here. I keep looking on craigslist but have already bought most available up to 80 gal.
Good luck finding a tank and on the new business.
I can vision in my mind how big your discus are getting this week and you too embarrassed to show. :D:D:D
Take care, thanks for the update. :)

Steve, things just gets that way sometimes. Time is just not on my side with my fish expeditions lately as work is overloaded. If you were close by I would have given you a spare large tank I have as I always got something laying around. Keep up the great work you do! :D

Regards
Ahmed ;)

Steve,

Iknow what you mean about them outgrowing their current digs. A couple of weeks back I had to remove the drift wood from the tank just so they wouldn't get caught in it try to feed. These guys are really getting HUGE!

Best wishes my friend!

Thanks Bill, still looking. Not much around sacramento either.I can get something new for what things are going for on craigslist. There's a 150 available I just don't have a place for something that big but I may do it anyway.

Yeah, the biggest problem is the dimensions. If the tank was short and long it would probably work.

Thanks man!
