What are the time limits regarding making edits or deleting our posts? Does this vary depending on which section we post to? Is this a global setting and/or user setting?

Thanks for your help!

Hi David,
The time limits on post edits/deletions is a global setting applying to all members... It is currently set at 720 minutes(6 hours)...After that time period expires only moderators can edit.

This policy is in place to maintain the integrity of discussion threads.

Thanks so much Al!

Just curious more than anything. Has the time limit shortened recently?

Yes it has David,
Up until recently we did not set a limit at all.

I figure 6 hours is enough time for people to proof read their writing for grammar, spelling, and content.:) if its something Glaring.. Mods will be able to assist.

Yeah, I noticed this the other day....I couldn't edit a post from a few days ago. :( I guess if its that important, we could just add another post. :o

Good catch David

I do go back to edit or update links, sometimes to correct, replace if the website content changed or if my photobucket pictures were deleted by mistake that I used in my posts. On occasion, :D I do delete posts if I find that I misread the original thread content. Hey..I'm old...it happens!
