Is there a thread to define some terms that are foriegn to people that are new to keeping discus? What do the above terms mean?

Alenquer is a type of Discus (my fav actually).
Throwback...no idea (i think its a certain feature of some Discus)
I am new to Discus world too. Hope I could help you more :)

That's one way to put it.
Some strains don't breed absolutely true. A % of the offspring will have the characteristics of an ancestral form, something between wild and what the breeder is trying to get. Snakeskins throw a % of turqs, and some turqs throw a few offspring that aren't far from browns...
This thread shows a white butterfly and a white butterfly throwback, for example-
