I'm very much a newb when it comes to Discus.

I'd like to meet Discus hobbyist/s locally with the following intent:

- pick your brain, ofcourse
- I have been feeding mine flakes, pellets and Frozen Blood Worms (FBW) daily
- I have one little one that's WAY skinny because it just won't touch anything but FBWs

As I gather from readings here, FBWs are not perticularly nutritious. Therefore, I tried making home made beefheart to help their diet, and it came out terrible:
- very stinky to make (made my stomach turn)
- came out almost a paste
- made my water turn horribly cloudy
- my fishes did not go for the home made stuff as they go after FBWs (90% of my FBWs don't hit bottom - gone in 45 secs flat, even though I feed very heavily)

I'd really like to meet someone locally who feeds theirs beef heart (BH):
- come observe 1st hand much of a mess it makes in your setup
- if it is tolerable to my setup (planted tank, with gravel - so gravel vaccuming is a real back breaker & a challenge for me), I'd like to purchase some of your BH if you are open to it; willing to pay to make it worth your while, of course.

Anyone here in ATX willing to lend a hand and help a fellow hobbyist and a newb out ?

Fell free to call me any time please.

Thx-
Sheb.
