What would you consider perfect water conditions, for keeping and breeding?

Also what would be an acceptible range of parameters?

Cheers

For everyday discus keeping:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate <20 (I prefer <10)
PH whatever you can keep stable

I've never bred discus so I wont comment on that.

What Scribbles said with the addition, that some breeders recommend a low TDS during spawning to increase fertilization of the eggs.

I mix RO/Tap to achieve

pH 6.8 to 7.5 depending on which test kit I use.
gH 3
kH 6

My Discus have spawned once at these levels, but as they ate the eggs, I have not idea how the fertilixation went. ;)

From reading on here, you can keep Discus at many different combinations of pH and hardness, but the key thing is maintaining similar water conditions (ph and hardness) when doing water changes.
