OK, so they're not discus.

But, I had to try an aquascape after attending the Aquafest in Maryland last Fall. Here's my attempt: the Capital Crescent bicycle trail that goes from Georgetown in DC to Silver Spring in MD.

First pic - the tetras are cycling uphill.

Second pic - the tetras are cycling downhill.

Man, it took a long time to train them to do that ! ! !

Last shot, the tank with, unfortunately, the window reflection. So, now I'm thinking, I've got to get some cardinal tetra bike togs for when the weather FINALLY warms up around here!:D

It's a 30 gallon with co2.

Hey Don,
That is a kick a$$ setup. I love the trail idea. Looks very, very nice.

Looks wonderful! I always love to see a path or river effect in the structure--it adds so much depth to the scene--it just meanders on and on. Really nice job.
Best regards,
Harriett

Thanks for the comments everyone. I finally figured out how to post larger fotos, so here's a couple that show the whole tank. No discus here!

I don't know a thing about plants, I used a site in North Dakota, I think, that actually will select plants for you and draw up a "floor plan!" So far, it's working out ok, although I have to trim growth every week, or else it gets way to crowded:D:p

what's the website Don?

aquariumplants.com

They seemed a little difficult to communicate with at times, but we finally got it sorted out. I used their custom design feature ($20) along with purchasing plants. It worked out. I'm still experimenting with ferts and CO2 levels, trying to find that "sweet spot" where you get good plant health and minimal algae.

That is a show quality, professional aquascape. Nicely done. I would enjoy that tank in my home.
