Nice huh?!

My other tank is a 35 gallon hex. I have 6 juvis in it. I'm taking some advice and I'm going to set this up. My wife used to have it in the house with some HUGE Altums and eventually it ended up in the back yard as a tree frog sanctuary.

I will put up more pics as the process continues.

Wow! Holy crap that looks like a portable septic tank!

:D....Funny! You made me laugh....

It's getting cleaner as my ability to put my arms into the frigid water allows .

The tank contained a bunch o crap. Including 3 rotting squirrel carcasses. Its been setting for a long time. Surprisingly it didnt smell to bad.

Thanks on the avatar, its part of my current favorite beer company out of colorado, Dogfish Head. They have some amazing tasting beers, my favorite right now is the raisin d'entre. 60 min and 90 min are getting really popular here in Vermont. Love the microbrews! http://www.dogfish.com/

Cant wait to see the difference once this tank has completed its 180.

Phatdave,
That looks like acrylic. Doesn't it have a load of scratches?

phatdave
02-24-2010, 12:13 AM
Yeah Its probably pretty scuffed up. However it is larger than my 35 hex and the fish and I won't really mind that!

I'm not sure about the plants and things that will go into it. I would like to use Black onyx sand and one or two hunks of wood .

Jason We are neighbors. Kinda. Do you go to the Wet Spot?....My first Discus came from there years ago.

I go to the Wet Spot every once in a while. I am a lot closer to World of Wet Pets. My discus came from Hans.

I salvaged some 2x6 from work and have started to build a stand.

The wood comes from overseas and is Really heavy. So I'm looking at 650 plus pounds and 100 for the stand. Hope my floor holds it!

..and this wood is so dense I can't nail it ,i will have to drill and screw it.

phatdave

We HAVE a Koi pond...or my wife does. About 6000 gallons. More damn Koi from years of spawn than I know what to do with.

..and yeah right now the back yard is full of debris from remodels. Waiting to use the neighborhood free coupons for drop off. :D

WELLLLLLLLL, I was about to comment on the wooden cabinet on the left first.

Lol, joking!

The stand looks sturdy. Best of luck with the 80. It'd be a good idea to at least paint the back and maybe bottom or cover it up before you start dumping any sand & water in it.

Okay todays the day. I'm a little nervous.

I'm getting the 80 up to temp, draining the 35 and moving the troops.

I will post pics of them in the new tank . Wish me luck.
