I am looking for a pump to go from my aging/aeration barrel to my tanks. They are all on the same level of my house. The furthest tank is 20-25 feet from the barrel.

I like to use a garden hose to fill the tanks. What is a good pump to get that is theaded so I can fill with a garden hose?

I have two Quiet One 2000 from Jehmco. Works very well for me.

There are adapters to fit just about anything to garden hose threads, so worry more about the head and GPH you need. I use a cheap pond pump that isn't fast but it was cheap. And did I say I got it cheap. :)

When I was setting up my aging barrels I called John at Jehmco and explained my situation to him. He recommended the equipment (some of which was not on his web site) and sent it to me. Great service and price.

Just run over to harbor freight and pick yoursef up a submersable pump suitable for drinking water....set you back about 50 bucks.

What pump I can recommend depends entirely upon how fast you want to fill the tanks (specific flow rate). Once we know how fast you want the water to flow, a specific pump recommendation can be made.

I was using a rio2100 pump but it was way to slow for refilling my 135g during water changes. I now use a mag drive#24 pump, gets the job done in less in 5 minutes! awesome pump!
