View Full Version : Jungle Val question
I have a 55gal tank with 4 discus and 2 rams and 1 pleco. I use sand for my bottom for growing plants. Anyway my jungle val is growing out of control how do I separate all the new plants? :)

I had several types of vals and they have always grown out of control. Get yourself something to cut the runners. The growth between each section and replant. You will have a over grown forest in no time.

Vals will grow rampant if not tended to. I trim mine once a week. The runners they produce will make a dense 'forest' in no time. I just let them grow to the look I want, then pick off the smaller ones with scissors (stainless steel) whenever they sprout. It's upkeep, but if you don't do it regularly, it'll be a lot more work later.
