i posted a similar post last week but i was curious if i could put 12 discus and 25to 30 cardnial tetas in a 125 gallon tank. i have 2 filters running a fx5 and a fluval 405 i do 30% daily water changes i have a sand bottom tank a small piece of driftwood on one side of the tank and a few fake plants on the back of the tank to hide the filter hosing let me know if you guys think this would be over crowding and if so how many discus and cardnials would you put in this type of set up i currently have 8 discus ranging from 4 to 6 inches but want to add a few more and some cardnails let me know thanks

I was told that cardnials or rummy nose have almost zero bio-load on the tank and one that size could easy do more then the ~30 you would want...

the more the better the school will look. I would say 50! thats what i had with the same size tank years ago.

I'd suspect that 50 cardinals might create the same bioload as 1 discus, probably less.. Call it 50 cardinals and 10 discus to be on the safe side...

You can actually follow the rule 1 adult discus for every 10 gallons
so you could have 12 Discus if you one.
and then live the 5 gallons for 50 cardinals.
just still keep your daily WC.
