I use a Hamilton Food processor to make 10-12 lbs of BH/Seafood mix. Works well for me. Only cost $25 at Target now (on sales)

Others might recommend a better meat grinder .. If my food processor ever break, I might go with a meat grinder.

Meat grinder should be better than a food processor ......even flow plus can control the size too

I used a meat grinder to start with and found two things wrong with it. First, there are too many chunks of BH left over that discus cannot eat, especially young ones. Second, if you are making 10+ lbs, it takes forever to get all that through a meat grinder.

A good 10 cup food processor works great! all the meat is in fine particals and you can blend the rest of your ingredients to a pulp in it as well. I process mine in 10 cup batches and then dump it in a Home Depot bucket. Once everything is pureed and in the bucket, I take a Home Depot concrete or paint mixing bit (they are about 3' long) and blend the contents of the bucket with it. It produces a very homogenous mix with zero chunks.

Just my $02!

Best wishes!

They have a good quality grinder at Bed,Bath and beyond . It is $95.00 and if you get their coupon is 10% off. I have used it for years and is pretty stout .

Hi chad.. i think since im not using beef heart, rather a seafood mix, that a food processor should do just fime.. alot better then the bullet im using now, which is moreless a blinder, but it comes out alittle clumpy.. Thanks for the help everyone!

Nolan,

No worries my friend!

You can get a pretty good quality 10 cup processor at WalMart for about $60. That's what I use!

Best wishes!
