hi
are there differences in shape/size etc between the breeding tube of male and female discus. if so how can you tell from the ovipositor?

Generally females are larger in that department. With discus, until you watch her lay eggs, watch him fertilize, watch those wigglers, you don't know what you've got, bottom line.

ok thanks . well i now know for vertain that the checkerboard pigeon is female as i saw her laying some eggs. her "partner" the red turq just sat and watched
