Any ideas of how to fasten down the hose that goes into the tank on a canister filter (eheim)? Eheim provides the suction cups that connects on the inside of the tank but I always get this eerie feeling that the return hose is just going to fall out of the tank and emptying it all out! help me sleep better at night! haha thanks

On my 150gal., I screwed a 1"x 4" board vertically to the back of the cabinet. I then screwed 2 hole pipe straps from Lowes to fasten down the hose in several places up the length of the board. I did this on each side because I'm using 2 returns. It ain't going anywhere! :D

if a wall or a board is nearby, pipe straps, as the previous poster suggested will work well. if the nearest flat surface is several inches away, you could consider using niatic hangers:

thanks for the ideas. I was thinking about using a large metal binder clip and then I can zip tie it to the clip. plus it would be really easy to move around if I needed to.

I got some of those Mag-Clips made by Zoo Med, and I they are so much better than I anticipated them to be.

I hope I don't get in trouble for adding a link to show you what I am referring to. Here goes: http://www.zoomed.com/db/products/EntryDetail.php?EntryID=97&DatabaseID=2&SearchID=1&

When I first saw this product I thought it was a clever idea, but it was not until I bought it and discovered just how powerful the magnets are that I really considered this product to be a great product.

I'm not sure what kind of magnets they are using, but I suspect that they are using rare earth magnets which are known for their strength.

Hope you are able to try em out. I have been very pleased with them.

BTW, at my local pet store they charge about $10.00 for a package of Mag Clips, but I found them online at places like That Fish Place, and other online pet supply places for around $5.00. This price difference is about the same with "most" things at my local pet store except for the price of fish I suppose.
