Weeping moss

Is it necessary to sterilize weeping moss? I tried to search for it but nothing came up for sterilizing moss. I would think treating it with PP would be too strong for the moss. If not how would I go about safely sterilizing it? thanks

Why would you want to sterilize it? Just ring it out several times with fresh water.
