I think John missed the biggest one but the one most people usually don't consider.

By joining NADA you will be supporting a National non porfit organization whose sole purpose is to support and promote the Discus Hobby. This support and promotion helps the hobby grow. Growing the hobby means vendors and manufacturers are more willing to invest in the hobby. All this usually equates to new innovations, better suppy and lower prices. This should also equate into better quality and quanity available.

i didn't join SD until a month AFTER THE NADA show.. boo! :mad:

And one of the benefits that I am getting to experience, being a member of the Board of Directors, is NADAs role in International Discus competitions. We are viewed as an important part of the International Discus community. NADA represents all of North America in the discus world and for that reason, we sometimes get to provide input/support for International Shows around the world. I will be representing NADA, as a show judge, during the upcoming Malaysia Aquafair which scheduled 25-28 November. Stay tuned for some great updates/pictures of the event!

I don't remember what our membership cost but if you join the club and participate and then decide you are not getting enough out of the club then I will give you your money back myself.

The fish showroom is open to the public, the speakers/workshops are restricted to people that have signed up for the show. Signing up for the show includes a 1 year membership.
