I started a 72 bow about a year ago, as my first planted tank. it was a long road to get used to the balance between discus, (which i was used to already) and plants. I think I have it under control as of now.

the first is the start, second is what it is now, and third is the "pair"... I say pair jokingly because the blue pigeon is far to young to breed. Don't tell him that, he still tries.....

Very cool stump. I've been looking for something like that.

it was a downed tree on the bank of a river close to my house. I pressure washed it and soaked it for two weeks in bleach water with the temp maxed, prior to the tank setup.

kinda funny too, my son found it while we were hiking, I fell in love...we went and got a saw, and cut off the top, leaving a good five feet. I then found myself dragging a 70-80lb half of a tree over a mile through the woods, only for it not to fit into the car.

been away for awhile sorry for the late response.

the "reds" are a blue pigeon blood and a pigeon blood from Hans.

It would appear all the hard work for that stump was well worth it. I have had bad luck in the past with stray pieces of driftwood. One came with some hornets!!! lol

I think a big piece of natural wood/stump looks very nice.
