Heres my lone male. Lost his mate few months back and have yet to get him another. Really haven't had time to work with him. Pictures are kind of dark around the edges and cropped to close. He's been at my home now for at LEAST 6 years or so, and i'd guess the previous owner's for close to 1 maybe? Kind of an old fish.

Here are some zebra lace veils and a koi veil I grew out last year. They came from Angel's Plus. The zebra lace have 1/2 wild blood. Even the koi from Angel's Plus have some wild blood.

If anyone is looking for some high quality angels, call Steve Rybiski at Angel's Plus. He's got some of the best angels I've ever had.

how big do angels get? ... They can get quite large :) I've posted some pics of scalares I had, the discus on the left of pic 1 was more than 7" SL so it gives you some idea how big they can get. The angels were F1 scalares.

i don't know what strain they are, but the guy i got them for told me it is silver angels.Silver/black would be a decent description, they look scalare based.

I'm enjoying looking at other's angels and here are mine. They are in my 75 gal planted tank, with gravel and rocks and wood. It was previously my discus grow out tank. Also in there are some old fish. One 15 yr old Bosemani rainbow, one 12 yr old Festivum and the last pic is my 12 yr old marble angel. The 3 are as healthy as when youngsters. I have had them since they were babies.

I have wild leopoldis also--a group of 7-- have had them for several years, I like them alot. They are in with the discus in a large planted tank now , and though I was surprised, it works out very well. They had their own tank for 2 years before the tank failed, fatal leak from a seam, so it was either the bath tub or the discus tank and that's where they went!

I picked up what is believed to be a pair of blue face koi angels, but not knowing to much about them, I do not see much blue in the faces. I will post some pictures for a specific identification.

What are the most popular angels? Last pair of angels I had was about 20 years ago and they were an extremely large pair of black veils.

I haven't had aggression issues with this group--have had them about 3 years now, they were fairly young when I got them. As I mentioned, they ended up in the 180g with some older discus--so maybe it's because there is a lot of room, don't know. Also, the only time I have ever had a spawn from this whole group of 7 [originally 9 before a heater failed] was the day I threw them into the tank when their tank failed. 'Someone' ate the eggs and that was that.
This group have WAY less attitude than any other angel type I have had, actually.
I rather like them and how they look--kind of compact.
Best regards, Al.

Here are my angels and recently spawn in community tank but no wigglers. I missed the whole spawning so could not tell male/female. Can anyone rate them for me and which one is a male/female?

Thank you,

Great angels, guys.

Hans and Al, you do realize that most blushers' gill plates will turn solid as they age, right? ;) I guess not all do, but most.

Here are some past angels. I just lost my last angel, a wild, about a month ago.

Well,I had a koi as a dither fish, and a few months later at a swap meet, buying black worms, saw a lonley smokey blue for $5.1 month later, eggs in the comunity tank. They are benifiting from the water changes and frequent feedings. They will be getting they're own 29 soon, and we shall see what happens.

And these are what I have at the moment. The dark pair is Black Lace with streaked from Steve at Angels plus, they are watching over wigglers as I type; the Marble pair I got from Al, and the platinums are just some random fish I aquired. Still deciding if I am going to breed them or not.

Hi,
Here are a couple of my Angels ,they are wild caught but not sure of type,

They look to be of Peruvian origin. Check out the greenish tint. Dead give away.

oh, you know I'm having trouble again with that???? Those do look wild crossed, but bet Al would know!

Ryan

The angels posted by gerbil are silvers. If they are wild or contain wild, they're not Peruvians. Peruvians have the notched forehead like an altum and also feature very long, almost veil-like fins (especially the ventral fins). They don't have any of the blue genes in them -- they're good old-fashioned silvers. I love the black blotches behind the eyes. Those are the type of angels I miss. Maybe they're from Brazil?

Rich,
Als marble angels spawn like rabbits. I have a tank full (easy over a 100) that are 4wks and I took the parents out a wk ago and they spawned the beginning of the wk. Went freeswimming this morning. As Al told me get ready to add tanks, he is right.

Al, if you need any little ones, let me know:):)

Great pics of Angels! I have a large black female Angel that is wanting to breed. One day I came to my room and I saw a bunch of eggs on the pump that she was laying. If only I had a large black male that could fertilize them so I could have little angels. But then that leads to separating them to a 10 gallon tank and giving them the conditions. Tempting for sure though. Thanks for sharing the pictures!
