Fluval 304

Hi,

I recently rebuilt an old style Fluval 304. I replaced the old tap connector with one of the new style. I can't believe how much water it's pumping. I don't remember it moving this much water even when it was new. Is this normal? Should I be concerned that it is not pushing the water through the filter material?
