Bill, I got these from "snookin" back in the early summer.

Nice to see how they are coming on Darrell. I always find it more rewarding to start off with juvenile WC's and yours are the perfect example.

They will slowly start colouring up from the "outside in" so to speak. The blue should slowly start appearing on the lower regions of their body then spread up. Thank's for sharing, they are in really good hands.

Thanks. The tank is nothing special at all. It's the same tank that I used to have the Heckles in I got from Hans, just different decor. My son now has those other fish. It just has sticks, sand, and stuff I had lying around left over from other projects. The fish seem to enjoy it though. Oh well, here's the tank shot. Sorry about all the glare in the room from the lights and computers....

The source water is just straight well water. It comes out very soft, at a PH of about 6. It does drop a little lower in a day or so from the tannins that the wood gives off. I change about 50% of it every 2nd or 3rd day. Temp. is 84 to 86 F. A 250 watt Jager heater is used. The sand is normal pool filter sand in a thin layer. I used a bucket and half, (it was a 4 liter SeaChem bucket) so about 6 liters of sand for the 75 gal. tank. The filter is an Aqua Clear 110, with the sponge, and a mesh bag of SeaChem "Pond Matrix" bio media. One of the Asian air stones that Kenny gives out with orders is used with a small air pump as well. I feed them a lot of live black worms, and they get a little home made mix as well. The black worms work well, because they like to "graze" on them over a period of time, rather than gulp down their food. You then don't have to worry about fouling the water as much.
