I just started a 125 gallon community tank that so far has only small fish.

Can anybody recommend a large fish that won't eat the smaller fish?

Silver dollars Metynnis argenteus, Metynnis hypsauchen get to around 6" or so - but be warned if you have live plants they will eat them!!:bandana:

hedut & pcsb23: Thanks for the suggestions! I didn't know silver dollars get that large. I actually have 10 small ones in there right now.

warlick4169: About 4" -6" would be perfect.

DiscusLover65: Good memory!!! Actually it was a long and painful decision, but I finally decided to go with a community tank with lots of "easy" fish. My favorite is still the 55 gallon discus tank in my living room, but I just couldn't bear the thought of frequent water changes with a 125 gallon tank.

Hey, never know, might change your mind.. I used to have red bellied Pacu. Quite large and peacefull, Never bothered small fish, but will jump, so beware.

anyway, most say that discus won't bother small fish either. I would research monsterfish.com on all the species out there. that is a good forum too
