So I was contemplating looking for some type of poster board or paper that was close enough to krylons ocean breeze color, since my tank was already set up. After fail after fail driving around asking at fedex office, hobby lobby, etc. I finally decided to just go to lowes and look for a piece of plexiglass that I could paint and stick on myself. Luckily they had a piece that was the exact measurements as my tank. The only down side was the white stick on protectant film I had to remove. So after bringing it home and thinking to myself, I decided to see what it looked like with the white film still on. I think it looks pretty darn close to ocean breeze unless my eyes deceive me. All I did was slide it into place and put two strips of tap along the sides to keep it in place. Please tell me what you think..........
Heres the plexiglass..........

I couldn't even keep the LFS roll background on my tank, and you are using something heavier??

Looks good, but the little ones would feel more secure if you covered the sides with something also to get rid of their reflections. I paint bottom, sides and backs of the discus tanks, especially for the juvies.

All it is is just the plexiglass with the protective white film still on it that it came with. This is what I did, bought it at lowes, slid it into place, then added tape to the sides to make it stick...........

Packaging tape is wider and stronger than normal clear tape.

That may be fine for fishrooms, but it appears to be in a living area,I prefer not to for the look, plus fish can get just as scared when some one comes around the side and they cant see them coming.

The easiest way to apply this or any type of background that you think you may change later down the road is velcro. Go to any Hobby Lobby or fabric store and but it in thin strips it works great.

This is what I use:

Paint as needed ( I prefer white) then apply, even adds a bit of insulation to the tank. Much easier than painting the tank itself and can be applied while fish are in the tank.
