Not much of a electrician; can that mini unit control 2 heating units?

It is rated at a higher wattage then the one you posted. At 220v it can handle 2500 watts. Wiring it is easy, they do best when fluch mounted to a cabinent, otherwise you will have to buy a small project box for it to use as a portable unit. This particular unit has tighter temperature controll then the one you linked too.....+/- .3 deg C. I run a 1500 watt Rv water heater off of one of the controllers I have with no issues.

Are Otto's still available? If so, I have 5 of them and have had excellent luck with them...

If you guys are not afraid to run cheap Chinese electronics in your home 24/7, then you are much braver than I am. I don't think the words "quality control", or "safety" translate, and have meaning there. :p

Then that assembled in Japan from chinese components TV in your house must scare you to death ;). But seriously, I would't recommend them if I haven't ran them myself. I have 6 of them and 1 year with no issus what-so-ever.

Yeah, but my point was, products like those sold on Ebay direct from Hong Kong, are not directly marketed to the US. This means they have not been UL certified to run on 110v safely. Example, my son bought several aquarium heaters off Ebay direct from Hong Kong once. Maybe from these same people, I don't know. I told him he was wasting his money, and they may not be safe, but you know how kids are. He's over 21 with his own place, so he knows everything. You plug the thing into the wall, and the cord gets hot to the touch, not good. One of them cracked in the tank while running, also not good. I don't know know what he did with the rest, but I do know he ended up using any of them.

I couldn't agree with you more on alot of the stuff coming from china. I did alot of looking into the sellers feedback, particullarly for this specific item, and it was all positive. Still a sceptic a purchased one and gave it a go.....flawless. I have one that controls a 1500 watt heater on my RO collection barrels (110 gal) and it has no issue with that, so I feel pretty safe using them attached to a 200-500 watt aquarium heater. Besides nowadays pretty much everything you buy comes from china (marineland anyone?).
