Hi,

I just installed a T-5 dual strip with 2 54W 6,700K bulbs on my 75g discus tank. I know this is great for my plants, but this yellowish spectrum washes out the colors of my fish:(

What bulbs or combination of bulbs do you guys recommend that would highlight my fish and still support my low light plants:confused:

Thanks in advance

Take a look at the Giesseman Aqua Flora bulb. It's a pinkish plant bulb that brings out a lot of red colors. Mix that with their Midday bulb and you'll have lighting that can bring out any color. I actually like how it looks with just the Aqua Flora bulb. Freshwater plants don't strictly need 6700k lighting, that is a myth ;) They will grow almost under any lighting, even actinics if you wanted to.

I have a single strip t5ho at 10000k at the front of the tank where the fish are most of the time. This really brings out the blues and reds. I also have a 3x55 t5ho fixture toward the rear with a mixture of other lights for the plants.

Thanks for the info guys. I will add 10,000 daylight and see how that works.
