Has anybody successfully attempted to keep low-light, low-maintenance plants in pool filter sand only dosing the water with Flourish Comprehensive Supplement? The bottle says that these are micro-nutrients, trace elements, and other nutrients. On the bottle it says - For macro element (NPK) fertilization use nitrogen flourish phosphate or flourish pottassium as needed. I've been told using root tabs w/ the comprehensive supplement will be sufficient. Any thoughts?

The root tabs (depending which ones you use) probably include both macro and micro nutrients so if you want really low maintenance and don't feel like dosing every day, you may be able to get away without dosing anything. Trial and error...see how things go without dosing. If the plants don't look good after a couple weeks, try adding liquid ferts. Most plants are pretty forgiving and will bounce back.
