What happens when your wife won't let you have a fishroom and won't let you have a mancave...FISHCAVE! jk

The cabinets match what's in the kitchen and I installed everything and built the walls, except the one the TV is hanging on which is part of the stairwell. Bought the counter top at a big box store and installed my own end caps...never again. There is an 1 1/2 gravity drain system behind the tanks and 10 outlets and a switch to an outlet on the back of the wall for my pump and 25 feet of flexible PVC to fill everything.

Mancave...that's a word that just invokes an image of something ENTIRELY different in my mind!...The fishcave looks nice and neat Keith...but come on...more tanks!...Bill

One I finish the last wall I've got a brand new 72 bowfront tank that's going to go behind the coach as a growout. Hopefully that will start in a couple of weeks or so. Off to CA for 5 days next weekend.

Its nice having your own space to kick back and relax....but l would be carefull about having the t.v directly above your tank. Your sure to get some moisture in it from your tank, which may cause you some grief. Just my thoughts :)

I honestly spend a lot more time listening to that TV while I'm doing WCs than actually watching it. When I decided to buy it I told my wife that the discus had to maintain the standard of living they'd become accustom to in our living room.

I do occasionally end up with a couple of splashed drops of water on the screen, so that's when the screen gets it's quarterly wipe down. Going to get the 2x4s and foam board for the remainder of the room after work today.

The wife is very musical, in the last couple of years I've bought her a pretty nice flute and a gloss black digital Kawai piano...she allows me my fish stuff. :)

Fishcave is looking real super, Keith - As someone said, there's room for more, but I see you're adding a bowfront. That's just for starters, right ?

Recruited a couple of carpenters to help me a week from Wednesday after I get back from California to stud up the last wall.

The last portion of wall is finally done in the fishcave along with the steel beam being enclosed. There's a new grow out tank in place just waiting for water and real fish.

Hmm, that picture seems to indicate it was a red wine night when these pictures were taken. :)

Told you it was waiting for real fish. :D I almost added a spawning cone between the two of them, but it was a fleeting thought.

Oh, and the background I bought for the tank is on the backside of the one that is showing that my wife greatly preferred.

Looks really comfortable, Keith, and a red wine atmosphere for sure. Love it, and I'm sure it will look great!

LOL love the fish cave rules!!! Hey Kieth is that stone on the left a Dino Poo rock?

Thanks all, maybe some day I'll get to try it. It certainly looks comfy, but no surprise 99% of the time I'm down there I'm working on tanks. I did watch every Packer post season game down there, but most of those were during WCs too.

Dino Poo rock Bill, I think not. Remember I'm an accountant by trade. What accountant is going to pay those kind of prices for hard fertilizer? I don't honestly know for sure what it is, but I believe it's quartz. Has a nice pink color to it, and discus from time to time have decided the angle is good for laying eggs on. It's awfully tough to see eggs on it though when they lay on it. Just a nice decorative rock for a grow out tank that in a pinch makes a good first spawning site.

Whats wrong with a crow? I think any woman would be fascinated with a man's giant crow! Maybe even woo'ed into the mancave with it! ;)

Nice fishroom Keith, and yes looks like a nice chunk of pink Quartz.
Did my grandma make you that afghan? lol ;)

No, that one was a wedding gift that I really wonder if it was a regift. Red, white and blue in the winter just doesn't seem right. On the other hand, I do have an afghan my mother made and another my oldest sister made and I cherish them both. I know exactly how much time and effort goes into those things.

Dang, I just looked to see where you were from. I wouldn't have thought a Canuck would have made light of a blanket of any kind.

Yea, I just need to decide what if anything I'm going to do for a ceiling.

I cherish all my afghans from my grandma, and mom as well. I've seen the amount of work, and love that goes into them, it makes them all the more warmer.Except when my toes go thru the holes.;)

There's never been one of those in the cave, but I'm not going to say I've never drank one either. Of course there aren't that many different kinds of drinks I can I've never tried. :D Cheers.

The one sanctuary a person can have is living in his/her cave with their fish. Keith obviously took charge of his desire to have the "man cave." Good job Keith!!
