View Full Version : Discus Competition at the Minnesota Aquarium Society Show!

Due to heavy participation in past years, the 2011 MAS Annual Show is going to feature four competitive classes for discus. We're expecting ~20 entries.

1. Solid fish
2. Striated fish
3. Spotted fish
4. Wild caught fish (discus and angelfish)

The show (http://aquarium.mn/programs/annual-show)is scheduled for April 9 & 10. Mike Beals of Central Ohio Discus will be speaking Saturday afternoon, sponsored by the Frostbite Falls Discus Club. We also have some surprise events planned.

So come to our show, bring your discus for competition, listen to Mike Beals, meet your fellow discus fanatics and be prepared to be surprised!

This is Minnesota Aquarium Society's 80th year, so we're pulling out just a few stops. We've got three outside speakers, a swap meet for the entire weekend and amazing raffle items.

One of our local members, Jim Burton, is setting up a discus challenge for our show. He's donating 6 bags of 5 young discus (for a $10 donation to the club) for competition. Anyone getting a bag of discus has to agree to post pictures regularly. We'll see who's the champion beefheart maker and water changer!
