If you like your classic 2217, I would go with a 2260. It'll give better turnover rates, and holds more media than smaller filters.

fx5 fluval. I have one on my 150gal and 90gal, this filter works great, keeps my water nice and clear.

For a 125 I would have redundent Eheims...also enables two returns to really ensure proper circulation. I would run Eheim 2073 x 2. Nothing beats the Eheim. Don't get electromic Pro 3. The new regulas Pro3 line is great 2070, 73, 75, 80. NOTE: the Eheim 80 uses lots more media and is not as efficient with all media fully loaded. It's also big, bulky and make sure it fits under cabinet. With two Eheim 2073 you can have the set so each gets cleaned every 30 days...so you have a nice ballance ecosystem. Also if sometihng goes wrong you have you back up.

Nothing but praises for the Eheim 2075, with another canister or large HOB filter to run parallel as aqautic3 mentioned. I usually try to run an extra filter of sorts in case I need an emergency isolation tank.
Good luck in your decision Jarret!

It actually came broken so I went with a fx5 since I was sort of pinched for time and the lfs had one. But the fx5 seems to be doing the trick.
