So i ordered from ebay like last week and the filter finally came.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230510837338&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

From Catalina Aquarium, i heard a few things on it so i got it.

Right now the only thing inside is a piece of sponge that the filter came with....and i hooked it up to my empty tank. The flow is like crap, i checked the 1200l/h conversion on the bottom and it says its about 350 gallons/hour. I plugged it in....there is no way that is 350 gallons an hour. My Aquaclear 30 powerhead is shooting further than the canister. Did i get doped? or is there something i can do....i checked all the tubes its not bend any where...

The Canister is the one on top for the video, there is no way that is 320 gallons / hour

I know i need another one for my 55 gallon but if the flow is this crappy....i do not want one like this....

I took out all the filter trays, so now its empty and its only flowing 7-8 inches.....

Flow look adequate to me. See how long it takes to fill a 6 litre bucket and do the maths.

so the canister is suppose to be pumping out 1200L/H is only that much? The canister is rated for 180gallon tank and its sitting in my 100 gallon without much flow. Theres no media trays inside. Theres no way that flow rate should be correct....Shouldn't 320gallon/hour be alot more than that?? My aquaclear 30 (checked petmountain for flow rate and its 172) and thats pumping out more than the canister. Shooting way further

It's about volume, not pressure; it's not a pump..'Shooting' is pressure related....as said, let it flow in a bucket for a length of time, and multiply..

The sheeting effect of HOB's appears to have a greater flow, but the water isn't returning thru a small dia. tube in them..HOB's break surface tension better, canisters have adjustable flow patterns...

thats a pretty good price on that size canister. could you comment on the noise and is it easy to assemble and disassemble?

Chinese knockoff of an Ehiem pro II

Looks like it's working fine to me. Let us know about the reliability of it over the next few months.

THis thing is OMG...quiet.....LOL you can't hear it at all, unless you put ur ear to it. I actually love how quiet it is. Assemble and disassemble isn't too bad. Took me 10 mins to full take everything apart and i had no idea where the screws or anything were. And this is my first canister. So i would say its pretty ez.

Note: it does not coming with any media, only 1 filter polish (i think thats wt its called) and 4 empty trays.

Darrell: Will do!

nc0gnet0 @ yea it is but oh well, its funny how it says made in China on the back and on top it says Catalina Aquarium but if you look at the sticker in the back it says Jebao.

The same factory probably makes the same line of filters for different companies.

The flow seems OK to me, too. And about the surface tension, a spray bar like the ones that come with Eheim 2028 will send what, 10?, jets just under the water creating a very nice sheeting effect.

that's why never trust cheap product :) and you do more research before buy :)

Flow looks ok. Put a spray bar on it if you want more water movement.
