dwarf cichlids for 50-60cm tank

Hello, which species of southamerican dwarf cichlid do you recommend for tank lenghts of 50-60 cm? they would be kept as a pair, or a trio at most with leaf litter, small twigs, some easy to keep plants and red cherrys as a cleanup crew.

I think any dwarf cichlid you get will undoubtedly target RCS as food at some time or another. But that aside, an apistogramma species are super fun and very attractive. German blue rams, or electric blue rams are really nice too. Maybe some flag cichlids.
