I've searched the forums but can't find any reference. I know I've read before someone saying they knew where to get a remote controlled on-off switch for electrical devices.

Jehmco doesn't have them, at least not on his web site. Any ideas? Thanks -Don

I would try McMaster-Carr.

This is what I am using on two pumps moving water out of my 330 gallon storage container.

I haven't used any of these, but I've been looking at them for a while for a variety of reasons... if you buy one, will you post a review?

This one looks interesting to me for aquarium purposes (PC control).

I also looked at these for general applicance control...

I'm also looking at insteon and x10 stuff, but that seems more expensive if you just want to control a few appliances.

I use these and they work switching them on from the second floor with my barrels and pump in the basement.

Made my WC's a breeze!

I found them at my local True Value Hardware. Bought two. They have a triple plug which saved my fish during our recent several day power outage by allowing me to gang up filters and heaters from a generator. Use them to power my fill pumps and they work excellently from another room. Never tried them from another floor of the house though.

If you haven't ordered them from online, you can get them at home depot, or lowes. Though I think the lowes were only two prong when I got them.

Don,
After Christmas these are dimes on dollars discounted @ Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot & Lowes. I stock up every year, usually 6-7 dollars a piece.

+1

I find the wired on/off switch at Target for $.25 and they work great for lights or pump.

As for the wireless one, ebay is a good source for the 3 packs but I would be very careful with using those. I do have 2 different set and they do work on different frequencies. I use them for moving my RO water from storage to tank. The reason why I say be careful with them is because on occasion, they change the input setting of my cheap TV in the basement (weird). Maybe it's a coincidence but happened too many times already. Because of this, I keep the hose connected to the pump on the sink just in case it decided to turn on when I am not around.

I have the Stanley outdoor wireless remotes. They work great!

Well, that's at least two for the Stanley outdoor control. One question about those: I see there are two receivers, each I presume with one male and one female electrical outlet. The sending unit, that sends your command, looks like it just has a forward and rewind button ? ? ? How's that work? -Don

The picture of the remote is incorrect. It actually has 4 buttons, 2 for each unit. One button is on and the other is off. I had the same question till I read in the reviews that the picture was bad.

No, it's just for two separate devices. Each device uses it's own receiver. I purchased the one that controls two devices per remote. I have a receiver on the drain pump, and refill pump.
