Does anybody run moonlight lightning on your discus tank? If so do you keep it on all night. TIA

I have moonlights plus two banks of main lights. My schedule is like this:

5:30 am moonlights come on.
6:00 am only right hand bank of main lights come on since that's the feeding side.
6:15 am give Discus breakfast. :)
6:30 am right hand main bank lights go off.
6:45 am moonlights go off, tank is dark until 3pm.
3:00 pm main bank of lights come on, right hand side first, then left hand side 10 minutes later.
8:35 pm the moonlights come on.
8:45 pm first bank (left side) of main lights goes off.
9:00 pm second bank (right side) of main lights go off.
9:30 pm moonlights go off and tank is dark.

Right now I only use mine at night, from about 8pm to 11pm now that it is summer time. But, I do have a Digital Aquatics MLC (Moon Light Controller) that automatically dims/brightens the LEDs based on the moon phase. It follows the true, actual lunar cycle, so for new moon = LEDs off, full moon = 100%, 1/2 moon =50%, etc. It's kinda neat, I can always tell what the moon is doing by looking at my tank.

I am also interested if anyone else runs their moonlights all night...

Hi: I have been using a moonlight LED light for about 4 weeks now and leave it on from about 11 pm to 6 am and the fish seem to like it. I was told it was a good thing to do as sometimes the Discus don't like the total darkness. regards, Paul, Toronto, Canada
