I got this 120 gallon tank last year and set it up. But after several months of it running I really didn't like how it was working. First off I didn't like the overflow box at all I wasn't getting any water movement along the bottom of the tank. Second I was getting lots and lots of algae build up on the tile I used for the bottom and was having to clean it all the time. Plus since the overflow box mainly skimmed the surface I hated seeing my ray swim in poop all the time that collected on the bottom. Third the overflow box had square edges so anytime my fish got spooked and ran into it they would get injured on the corners. So I made a decision and took the tank down and upgraded it. First issue I solved was the overflox box since I couldn't drill my tank (tempered glass) I built a wall around the box with acrylic and cut slits along the bottom so it would draw the water from along the bottom. I also cut two openings along the top so it would still skim the top a little.

Fish seem so much happier with this new setup and I have had a pair spawning nonstop. They have had wigglers the last 3 batches of eggs they have laid. But after about 3-4 days they finally end up getting eaten.
