Find your city water report and post a link up here, need to see the amount of chloramines in it.
My city uses alot and I use 1 cap per 55 gal barrel, but I age mine too so it has awhile to do it's work.

What city do you live in.

By the way, alot of people double dose with prime just to be safe. That could be costly though. No biggie your probably a millionaire:)

I live in So. Maplewood and I been raising fry to juvies with also a few adults straight out of the tap with no problems! Like Sean stated I double dose on the prime just to be safe! But, Once I get done with the liquid I will be switching over to SAFE!

Our water comes from St. Paul and here is the link to the water reports!

This was a letter that came from the city of St. paul regarding the water:

All water in St. Paul and some surrounding suburbs leaves the treatment
plant at a pH of 9.0 to 9.1. We do soften the water at the plant to
around 4.5 grains of hardness. We also use chlorine and ammonia to
disinfect the water, which would explain the measurable levels of
ammonia, and nitrate, nitrite N. The water chemistry does change
throughout the year. Currently we have one of our four wells on, but
wells are often on in the summer also. The taste of your water is
probably better now, because yes, the water is colder and also there is
very little algae growth in the lake at this time of year. If you have
additional questions please call me.
