The handfeeding Challenge....

Hi all,
Handing feeding your Fish is one of the cool things about this Hobby...I don't know why, but holding a chunk of food in your hand while your fish eat it is just a really great experience. It also shows a bit of how healthy your fish are and how comfortable they are with you.

So heres the challenge....Using either my Cubed or Loose Freeze Dried Blackworms , take a video of your fish eating it out of your hand...post the video here and I'll pick the best one... Though I won't penalize anyone for lack of sound in a great video...get creative..I wouldn't mind a good music score or commentary to go with the clip.

I'll give you a little over two weeks to train your fish (if you haven't already) and post the video.. Winner will get a free 50 gram bag of Freeze Dried Blackworms....their choice...loose or cubed. Shipping is included, even internationally.

So lets get those clips posted and see those hand fed fishes.

Can I get 100 grams for free if I can post video of them jumping out of the water for your FDBW's? My Piwowarki's just might do it! Lol... Okay..Video of Discus jumping out of the water and snatching Freeze dried Blackworms from the hand...That would be worth an extra 50 grams. :)

No funky video editing though and "flipper" needs to come up so its head is at least a good 1" out of the water. ;) doesn't need to jump clear out of the water though or jump thru hoops:)

ok, here we go. First attempt at making a movie with sound :-)
those are 15 day old fry - 2 different spawns (ARSG & PB's) - they spawned within 24 hrs of each other and I had the PB pair foster the ARSG fry. The red fish is the male PB parent (looking pretty beat up and peppered - BTW, any ideas if that is a Marlboro?????). For the song - please mentally substitute "peanut butter pie" for "Al's FDBW".

Excellent!! I like the song choice.
I chop up my FDBW for my fry but I am going to have to go home this afternoon and try hand feeding a cube to my two week olds.

they've been devouring the FDBW cubes since 10 days old - I used the paperclip method mentioned by nc0gnet0 (http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?89930-Do-you-feed-fry-freeze-dried-black-worms-(fdbw)&highlight=paperclip) earlier. Got some pretty cute pics of them while eating that way as well :-)

Thanks Embersmom! I have had them since they were quite young, but they grew out nicely with my homemade seafood/BH mix and now Al's Blackworm cubes. They may eat slowly and gently, but these guys often shock me by how much BW they can eat. They just keep eating and eating and eating... mike
