Anyway to avoid peppering?

shoud have used white pepper instead just an old chefs joke. go with turks idea. i like peppering myself.

lighten up the living area.. as light as you can get bottom and back ground...

or yea..

get rid of the fish and get NON pigeon base fish

As others have said, suggest a cream colored background, and white silica PFS for substrate - won't eradicate peppering, but should lighten it up/dissipate it significantly.

Well, more than me, these guys are more friendlier with my mother.....they eat out of her hand....so no question of giving off!
