Bare bottom green water

Can a bare bottom tank get gw. Been doing 65 % water change every other day and tonight one has stress bars showing. Are my lights on to much ( all day )

Welcome to Simply Discus! I have always found that green water comes from too much light and too much organic matter in the water, combined. How much wattage do you have and how many hours on? How big is your tank and how many fish? These all come into play.

I use a UV on my tank - keeps water clear and pathogerms away. You could also use a carbon filter to help remove organic matter.

It's a 55 gal three discus ( juv) and a bushy pleco two bettas also. Not sure the wattage came with the tank I know I have been leaving the lights on to long so have been doing a blackout since last night.
