Cycling a sponge

So I may take a crack at breeding my RM. I have everything I need but a cycled sponge. If a drop a couple into a cycled tank how long would it take for them to be ready for a new setup?

2-3 weeks,or you can cut a cycled sponge in half and the new one in half,donut wise,and inter-change the pices if you can't wait.
