New Tank with Sump

Hi Am a newbee to this Discus forum. Have just obtained a new tank 120 Gallons . This also came with a sump as had been previously used for marine. But I want to get into Discus as have had other freshwater fish for many years but never Discus. Do you think a tank with a decent size sump will work well for discus.i.e. with better control over water conditions etc. Will not be setting my tank up for a few weeks yet as am in hospital for an operation But any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated. Sure, it will work. Will it give you better control over water quality? Not really, but it will give you a few more total gallons, and a place to put heaters and other stuff.
