I would say the fry are about 1-2 months from spawning age. They grow up very quickly.

Hey Bill,

I'm planning on getting some rams from you soon but i beleive i need to soften my water. Whats a good way to accomplish this? I have a piece of drift wood in there now, which has made my water pretty yellow/brown. Is that enough?

I do not think you need to soften your water as these are being bred in Tap water that is 7-8.5 ph, TDS 180-225,and very hard though I do not have the numbers.

I still have a few left and they are getting large now. They are all 1.25 on the females and 1.5 on most of the males and most are getting adult colors. I have already had a couple of pairs form and lay eggs though they got eaten due to the amount of rams in the tank. Price on these sub adults is $8 each with shipping being a flat $20 for up to 10 fish. Here are a few pictures of the current fish available that I took before a water change. Should have some more small fry at .075-1 inch available in the next 2-3 weeks hopefully. They are selling fast so if you want any of these let me know asap.

The only blue based discus that I will have are still in the 1.5-2 inch range though they may be larger in a couple of weeks. Blue based are Red Turq. x Blue Snake and Red Turq. x RSG. Give me a call or shoot me a PM when you are ready and we will see what we have.

No golds at this time though I hope to have them in the near future. Right now just Rams, Angels, Discus, Blue Eyed pleco, Albino longfin bushynose pleco. I can get most any fish at the local wholesaler though I do not go very often.

I would assume they came from a farm but not sure. Got them a one of my wholesalers so location of where they came from unknown.

They do grow on you. I just picked up a couple of German Gold pairs yesterday and an Angel Ram pair. They have grown on me lately also.

Ahhh! You have gotten gold rams! If they breed, how much do you estimate you will sell them for? Are angel rams, long fin rams? ;) Now that you've got gold rams, are you thinking of getting electric blue rams? I need to get and cycle an aquarium before I can buy. :(

I expect all rams to sell for about the same price except for the electric blues, they will be slightly higher in price. Angel rams are longer fins than the other and they slightly look like balloon rams. I have some electric blues that have been bred with GB rams then bred back to keep the blue color but the hardiness of the germans will let people know when they are ready. They should start breeding soon I hope.

Not sure on exact lifespan though from my understanding they live 2-3 years depending on how often they are breeding. I raise mine on the same food I feed my discus.
