Still trying to understand what RO is so bear with me. RO is basically drinking water or purified water right? If so would water, say in a Brita container, be considered purified water? If that holds true then wouldn't it be considered the same if one were to purchase a Brita faucet attachment? One could then connect the Brita faucet unit to their Python siphon and you would have RO water for the tank?

Your Brita cartriage is only a carbon filter and will not achieve R/O quality water.
R/O is achieved through a filteration stage containing one or more of the following filters....settlement filter, carbon filter, and membrane filter. This will give you R/O approx. 30ppm depending on your water source. For pure r/o 0ppm it will need to pass through a DI filter.
