What kind of discus? Any cories left?

mmorris
10-19-2011, 02:06 PM
Hi Joan, lots of cories left! I have high-bodied cobalt discus that will be ready in a couple of weeks or so, and I have some turqs that should be ready shortly after that. I sell discus at around two inches, tail included, for $18 each, $16 each for 10 or more. Whereabouts in Vermont are you? It would be nice to meet up sometime. I've just been invited to speak to the Otter Valley Aquarium Society in Pittsford, but I don't have a date yet. I've also been invited to speak in northern Vermont for the tri-clubs - Montreal, Burlington and Otter Valley but I don't have a date for that engagement either. Hopefully one or the other isn't so far from you. Martha

Ooh, I'm excited! I'm a member of that club (Otter Valley) and really look forward to meeting you! I'm just south of Rutland so Pittsford is 1/2 an hour from me. What are you going to talk about? We'll have to stay in touch-I'm definitely interested in some cories and discus.

Well alright! A clubber! I'm on the board of directors of the PVAS and delegate to the NEC. I must have been absent the day they asked for volunteers. :( The presentation will be a basic introduction to discus keeping. I look forward to meeting you!

Cories still available??? :)

mmorris

I have a lot of cories, and probably will for some time because many are still too young to sell.

grindman620
11-07-2011, 12:13 AM
Oh.....so you wouldn't be able to sell any for some time?

mmorris
11-07-2011, 08:32 AM
No no, I have lots that are old enough to sell right now, and more that are still too young but will be available in the near future. I shouldn't run out any time soon.

Will juvenile discus eat the red cherry shrimps? If so, are the cherry shrimps a healthy treat for them?

mmorris
11-14-2011, 09:53 PM
Fuzzy, the postal clerk was supposed to get back with me when she wasn't so busy and had time to look up the information but I guess she forgot. I'll ask her again. Vince, cherry shrimp are pretty small, and I think they would be a nice treat. At the same time, I have some shrimp living with some adults in my 125 gallon.

It's a healthy 'treat' but probably not good as a staple diet. Crustaceans are typically low in HUFA (highly unsaturated fats). I don't know specifically what the nutrition profile of RCS is though, but I would imagine it's comparable to that of adult brine shrimp (the consensus is that they're void in nutrition, but that's not the full story).

Haha totally. Completely smashed on one side and it popped the bag.

The 3 Corydoras in it werent even submerged in water any longer I thought they were dead until I picked the bag up and they wiggled... It was seriously like a tsp of water they were all in. Once I got the box from the mail locker and saw it was wet, I sprinted back to the house literally saying OH NO OH NO OH O OH NO!! Lol I don't normally run that fast- only when fishy lives are at stake LOL must have been such a spectacle to the neighbors.

Hello Matha,

Are you still in business?

If so, I am interested in purchasing 6 sterbai's and two dozen red cherry shrimp.

How much would that be?

How should we proceed with this order?

mmorris
05-15-2012, 10:40 PM
Hi, yes, I guess I am still in business. :) I don't have any cherry shrimp at the moment, but I have cories. The cories are $40 for six plus $16 for shipping. I'll pm you some further details.
Martha

Aquaholic
05-16-2012, 03:21 PM
Aww, I was hoping you had the cherries. I'd like to purchse both at once, to avoid double shipping cost (If I understand correctly).

Or, Will I be charged seperate shipping for cories and shrimp?

i.e.

6 Cories= $40
Ship Cories= $16
24 Cherries= $20
Ship Cherries (US)= $15

TOTAL= $91 ???

Please clarify shipping cost

mmorris
05-16-2012, 04:35 PM
No, the cherries would have increased the shipping by a few dollars.

When do you expect the Cherries to be ready for sale again?
