I am looking at a few Ro/Di units right now, not really sure which one to get. Here a few thing that i found but not really sure which one to choose. I am planning to use them to raise altum and wild discus. I might use them to salt water in the future too.

1. Why are these guy so cheap compare to others? http://www.purewaterclub.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=88_92

2. $ 199.00 - OCEAN REEF + 1 FIVE STAGE 75 GPD RO/DI. http://thefilterguys.biz/ro_di_systems.htm

3. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/75-gpd-ro-di-5-stage-plus-system.html

4. http://www.eliteaquaria.com/AIR_WATER_ICE_TYPHOON_III_EXTREME_p/itypx.htm (this is more than what i m planning to spend unless its a big different from others)

Thanks

I have this one

http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/products/reverse-osmosis-filters-and-systems/reverses-osmosis-deionization-systems/standard-ro-di-systems/75-gpd-ro-di-4-stage-economy-system.html

and it works great. I got dual inline TDS meters and float valve for water storage.

Is it worth 50 dollar for all this? http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/...us-system.html

I dont' think you need 5 stages unless you choose to.....2 sediment or 2 carbons isn't really necessary unless you have either very high TDS tap (over 400ppm) or high chlorine. 4 stage is working fine for me and I make 100g of water a day.

Thanks I bought a system from #1 on your list I got a 100gpd without DI for 95$. The ro unit itself is very nice works quite well with my marginal water pressure( 38-42psi) . However the fittings I bought were very cheaply made and broke when I tried to install. I went to the local hardware store and replaced them. I have had no response at all to repeated requests for a refund on the fittings( I'm out 12$ plus replacement cost). That said the unit works well.

Once you are producing product water,it all comes down to what comes out the little blue tubing...(RO water!)..I simply find no basic difference in product produced, just in whistles and bells..Hard to make a bad choice, all things considered. Backflush valves are handy, but not necessary to make RO. TDS meters inline are fantastic, but don't make the water any different....Just make sure you get one way larger than you think you need.HTH, Gary

The reason i want to get 5 stage is for future needs. If i ever wanted to try saltwater i don't have to spend money again on water unit :)

Another reason i chose that unit cuz its come with free shipping. 4stage one gonna cost me about 150 with shipping where i can just pay another 50 to get other stuff.

I still maintain that all stages being equal, it's all about how well you apply the product and maintain your unit. Order cartridges by the case, they are way cheaper. Change them often. Keep a spare membrane handy. I say this as I finish marrying all of the inside house units together for 370gpd..lotta filters..glad that they all have clear canisters!

Thanks for input TURQ! I am very excited for my unit. I should have bought it long time ago :(
