Anything to remark?
I don't see 'TDD' on there.

Anything too high or undesirable?

My last hatch rate was maybe 30%
LOTS Of fungus

(many thanks in advance)

PS. I am mainly interested in whether or not a RO unit would do me any good

I hear charlotte water is 'soft', which might mean a RO unit is worthless?

when you test the water in your tank what are the readings?

TDS testers are available?

I have KH, GH, etc etc etc

Water appears acidic, slightly
Seems soft (hard to tell on their crappy scales)

to be honest I dont understand your water report which is why I asked what the readings from the water in your tank say. I am based in Holland and the water here is practically perfect as it comes out of the tap. I had a problem with fungus when my nitrites spiked and no doubt from the high organics from feeding BH. Have a look at this link

If I were you I would be tempted to move your thread to the breeding section as they will be better able to help you, I understand that you can treat water with an antifungal prior to the eggs being laid but there will be many on here who can help you more.

Yea, to be honest...I don't understand it either.

Seems like a few on here did, though.

I'll post over in the breeding section as well

Thanks for the advice

Yes, TDS meters are available and not too expensive.

"Is our water hard or soft?
Hardness is primarily a measurement of calcium and magnesium concentration. Water is considered hard if it measures more than 125 parts per million, or 7.5 grains per gallon of trace minerals. Our water has a hardness measure of 30 parts per million, or 1.8 grains per gallon, which is considered soft. "

TDS tester came

TDS is 58 - 70, different aquariums

Tap water came in at 58

No nitrates/ites
Maybe some chlorine? Anything else to look at for low hatch rates?

Your tap waters tds is perfect.

You could be getting low hatch rates for a couple reason that I know of.

Your pair is young.
Your male is not fertilizing properly.

Too much current in your tank. Next time they are about to spawn turn your airflow on sponges down and remove power filters to a bucket of water.

That's all I can think of .
