Hey everyone, being new to this i'm needing some guidance on what to use as substrate for a planted tank? Any advice would be helpful!

Discus tank?? Pool Filter Sand.

No question - I'll second that. Great stuff - looks real good - easy to keep clean - plant & fish coloration shows real well - with root tab ferts, also grows plants very well.

Thanks guys! Have you heard of anything else being used before? I'd like to kind of explore my options as well as to what may or may not work best for me.

gravel, flourite, top soil, mineralized topsoil, ada aquasoil/amazonia, other aquasoils, sand etc. Pool filter sand is probably the most common and works very well.
