I believe this is a manufacturer rebate so I don't think you have to buy at drsfostersmith. Just buy it from somewhere that is at least $65 for the 110. Well, I don't replace my filter media that often, but it's certainly is nice to have that supply for later use.

Also, I don't think it says you have to spend at least $65... I think it means, the min. value of the replacement media is $65?

...not entirely sure why the mfg would care what the retailer sold it for as long as the mfg got their piece of the pie.

Also, when did the promotion start? I have receipts for 110s purchased a few months ago (I think.. I hope.. I still have them). If that's the case, as long as I buy some media, I can get a refund on the media?

I think you are right about the min thing. If that is the case, the amazon link is probably the cheapest for getting the AC110 because it's free shipping.

As for the replacement filter, I believe you are supposed to submit the rebate form and hte filter is shipped to you. I don't think you are supposed to buy it and wait for the rebate.

I just bought a ac 110 this week for $60 and you are correct about the rebate

The way I understood the deal was you had to buy a years worth of filters media first. Then you send the receipts and UPC's of the boxes. Then they will send you a years worth of filters back. I didn't look that hard to see if you have to pay the shipping. I am not sure if the filter itself has anything to do with the deal but you might need the UPC off it. I am sure if you do the UPC code may be different on the one's before the deal.
I was at Petsmart and seen the deal on the one of the 110's Friday and I checked it out.

Yeah, that's the one I don't see if there is a start date or a limit.

I would email them and ask t be sure when or how far back they go. If you still have the boxes and receipts you may be good to go. It doesn't say one per household it either. Its still worth checking into.

I also have the two boxes of carbon that I don't use but keep as backups already :)

Regardless of the filter insert rebate. $60 shipped is a great price for this filter. It will last you may years.

$60 is an outstanding price for this filter... at the LFS, they sell for $90 and most other online retailers sell $10-20 more than Amazon.

I bought two of mine at about $50-55 (if I remember right) when they were buy one get one at LFS. So deals are out there every now and then..
