I just picked up my first pair of these beautiful flat fish on sunday, im hooked. I am unsure of the type other than red turquoise. I have been into tanks for years now from full blown reefs to arowana and rays. Currently they are in a 37, as I take time to get rid of the last fish in my 180 so that it can become a discus haven.

Where did you get them at?

A really nice lady in northern VA, she had 10 in a 150 and was converting her tank into saltwater. She just wanted to know that they were going to a good home, I wish I would have met her sooner because she just gave the other 7 to her lfs. She said this pair laid eggs regularly and the wigglers would get eaten within a few days by the rest of the community. The LFS wouldnt take these because they only had 20 longs and the rest were much smaller, and the cobalt (atleast i think is a cobalt) she just couldnt catch.

I've been doing 50% water changes and I dripped the fish for about 4 hours before moving them into the temp tank. He may be eating I just have had alot going on and havent had the time to just sit and watch as they eat.

The little cobalt and the female are eating pretty well but the male is still a little picky. How long can it take an adult pair to settle in to new surroundings? There was a slight ph hike when acclimated to my water from the well water they had been raised in.

Thanks for the welcome, I have known Keith personally for a few years now. Most of my monster fw fish have come from his place. Another great place to get Stendker discus from in town is Skoolz of fish, rama is a great guy and he currently has a handful of nice pieces at great prices.

I may give the pair a few weeks in the 180 to see if I can get a spawn or two before I add many tank mates.

My pairs doing the heads up and down shimmy shake this evening during feeding, should I skip this evenings water change as not to disrupt?
