Okay everyone I need a few ideas. Just sold my wild discus and I have an established 90 gallon I need to stock.

If it was your choice, what would be your dream set up? What fish would you add?

My only ideas so far would be a pair of south/central American cichlids or a south American biotope. Angelfish would be nice too.

I would get a nice collection of Angelfish. Maybe two of each strain and color.
Angelfish USA (David) has some nice Angels.
Plus, I love Angelfish.

I have a 125 gal with sand and lots of Driftwood...it contains all South Americans... Red Head Tapajos, festivums, and L.dorsigera flag cichlids...Its a great combo in tank.

Also have Port cichlids and if your tank is smaller... a pair of Ports are an interesting and less common fish to keep. They are not the most colorful cichlids...but with the scales outlined in Black and if in breeding more. they are a really sharp looking cichlid, and extremely active... Caution though...They make convicts look like guppies with their aggression and reproductive abilities.:)

A group of wild angels and tetras, some nice driftwood and plants....would be a great one as well.

I was swimming in a lake on the top of a volcano in Leyte..Up swam a large cichlid of some sort with huge eye spots on it's body..looked me right in the mask, just before it was spooked by some kind of freshwater eel the size of my thigh..One of each in a huge tank!...( I looked for about two years to i.d. the fish, never could!)

I don't know what these cichlids are bottom left of this tank but someone posted this pic the other day and I would love to have some of these. Does anyone know what they are the black ones with the orange along there back?

Iam a bare bottom guy but sand - 3D background - plenty of very unique pieces of driftwood placed with alot of thought from top to bottom - tank full of altum angels with a unique asortment of bottom feeders - nice size group of schooling fish - nice rock formation maybe a extra

Came to a Discus forum and asked what the dream tank would be? LOL.

Ditto, a tank full of Wild Discus (I love the Red Alenquers for some reason). My non-Discus favorite might have to be saltwater. Freshwater, can't think of anything... maybe some a tank of Iranocichla Hormuzensis (or other rare/endangered fish - for preservation reason, not aesthetics).

Thanks for the ideas. I need to post a picture of what I have to work with. The tank has a huge piece of driftwood and coarse gravel.

Here is a pic of the tank, hope it works. May need to click on it.

The wood and gravel will need to stay, considering a 3D background. The current fish are just there to keep the tank established and can be removed, 8 peppered corys, and two silver dollars, as well as a black angelfish. I really like the corys and the silver dollars. Thinking about wild/F1 angels and a school of larger tetras, maybe two more silver dollars if it is a good idea. Would like to have a few festivums as well. Anyone see anything wrong with this set up and stocking?

if its freshwater, the only other freshwater fish i like are demasoni cichlids. i had a 40 gallon tank that was just river rocks, with sand and 15 demasonis.
